Nephi, Utah - Coach Mike Bowring is the Juab High School Football coach, where winning is taught to the young men on the football team of the Juab High School. With an overall record of 81 wins and 39 losses, Coach Mike Bowring knows how to play the game and win.
In 2001, Mike coached the Monticello High school team and went 13 -0, with a 1A state Championship. 2003, Mike coached his team to the State Finals and lost only in the last few seconds. In 2004, Coach Mike Bowring team was Utah's 2A State Runner up. His statistics are well documented and this coach is a winner.
However impressive his stats are, numbers are not what put Coach Mike Bowring as the featured article on Itsagoodday.org. Though he is a winner in every way on the field, it is what he does off the field that is more impressive. Being a neighbor and friend of Coach Bowring, it is evident that he loves his players. He spends endless hours talking to and conversing with these young men. Often a vehicle of one of his players can be seen in his driveway. Usually they are there because Mike is helping and assisting these young men deal with the many struggles that are presented to today's youth.
I have observed in my dealing with these young men, that they all say, "Coach Bowring cares for me more than the outcome of the game." "Winning football games is a by-product of developing young men." says Coach Bowring.
Itsagoodday.org would like to congratulate this great coach for "doing extraordinary things" with the football players of Juab High School. It is not merely good enough to teach them the importance of winning, but how they can win in life. That is the true lesson learned here from the example of Coach Mike Bowring. |
